The ERASMUS+ call for Sector Skills Alliances is published targeting a partnership for skills in the Space Geo-Information sector
With the contribution of the DG GROW Space Data for Societal Challenges unit, the new ERASMUS+ call for Sectorial Skill Alliance was issued on 27 January 2017. The announcement of the Erasmus+ programme Call for proposals 2016 (EACEA/04/2017) in all official languages of the EU was published in Official Journal No 2017/C 31/06 on 26/01/2017. Find the call.
This call will support three activities:
- Identification of existing or emerging sector specific labour market needs (Lot 1),
- Design and delivery of Vocational, Education and Training (VET) in response to labour market needs (Lot 2) and
- Implementation of a new strategic approach (“Blueprint”) to sectoral cooperation on skills (Lot 3).
BACKGROUND
The EU programme Erasmus+ aims to support actions in the fields of Education, Training, Youth and Sport for the period 2014-2020.
The programme consists of three Key Action lines addressing respectively “Learning Mobility of Individuals” (Key Action 1), “Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices” (Key Action 2) and “Support for policy reform” (Key Action 3). Under this programme and the New Skills Agenda for Europe (click here), a Blueprint action was developed in 2016 by DG EMPL, DG GROW and DG MARE with the aim to establish a new framework for strategic cooperation between key stakeholders (business, education and training institutions, public authorities). It addresses six pilot sectors among which “Space – geo information”. Each of the sectors is covered under the LOT 3 of the new Sectorial Skills Alliances call (click here to download the brochure "Blueprint for sectoral cooperation on skills - Responding to skills mismatches at sectoral level").
