The Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE) was launched in January 2023 as a next step in the evolution of Earth Observation data services. It replaces the Copernicus Open Access Hub which ceased operations in November 2023 and the DIASes.

The ecosystem offers immediate access to large amounts of open and free Earth Observation data from the Copernicus Sentinel satellites, including both new and historical Sentinel images, as well as the Copernicus Contributing Missions and selected data sets from Copernicus Services. It empowers users with the tools and resources they need to unlock the full potential of Copernicus data.

The Application Programming Interface (API) is an intermediary that allows applications to access the features or data of another application or system.

Pratichhya Sharma (CDSE Remote Sensing Data Engineer)  will present the OpenEO API. OpenEO enables easy access and processing of Earth Observation data within the Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE). By using the openEO instance of the CDSE, users are automatically closer to creating FAIR[1]-compliant open solutions as openEO incorporates those principles in its implementation.

Pratichhya will explain how using openEO can unlock the full potential of Earth Observation data with minimal code and maximum efficiency.

During the webinar Jeroen Dries, (CDSE Software Engineer), will provide a live demonstration to show how using openEO can unlock the full potential of Earth Observation data with minimal code and maximum efficiency.
